BLACK SATURDAY

As all of the world knows, Australia had the worst bush fires in history. The fire storm travelled at nearly 200 km ph...and was less than 5 kms from my home. Over 200 people lots their lives that day, estimated over 1 million animals died, almost 700,000 acres were burned out. Over 1000 homes were lost and almost 1500 severely damaged. The temperature in our back yard got up to 118f, and we had wind gusts inexcess of 150mph. It was certainly a day I shall remember forever. Roads were closed in the district, power went out, we had no television or radio services as all local towers burned down.

Here are a few pics from my house.
